Tony Moly Lab AC Control BB Cream Review

by 10:17 PM
When I was walking around, I turned around and walked around haha (nahilo kayo? Lol). Seriously, I was walking around SM Manila last week when Tony Moly said hello to me again and I said no way! (But my feet brought me inside the store hahahaha). To cut my long story short, I bought another product. 😂

What ?

Tony Moly AC Control BB Cream with SPF30 PA++

Ingredients/Direction/Caution:

How much?
P595

Where to buy?
Tony Moly Stores

Product swatch:

The reason why I purchased this product is because it promises to heal acne so you'll get a bb cream and an acne solution in one. Though, we all know that blemish balms or BB creams are more than just a cosmetic. BB creams are also loaded with multiple skin benefits so an acne remedy is a great add up. This bb cream is containing a lot of natural ingredients such as Sciadopitys, Verticillata root extract, Phyto Oligo, Sage, Bill berry, Centella asiatica extract, Orange and sprout complex. Well all of those ingredients are aiming to help soothe irritated skin, reduce the redness and to keep our face moisturized and of course improve the overall appearance of our complexion.

I super love the packaging of this product because it looks so manly and simple. The sleek squeezable tube contains 35ml of the product. The smell is very similar to my favorite Tony Moly Petite Cotton BB Cream but this one has a little smell of medicine (maybe that's the one for acne yey!). It gives me a matte powder finished but I still top it with my favorite Sebum Out Finish Powder just to make sure my face won't mess up because I don't trust the oil factory inside my pores hahahaha. It has a decent coverage like light to medium but you can achieve a full coverage by adding up a second layer.

It is so lightweight that you can't even feel that there's something on your face. By the way, highway, railway system of the Philippines hahaha it comes in one shade only. It is not indicated on the box if it is light beige or number 01 or what so ever. Good thing it matched my skin tone and blends well on my rocky road oh I mean face 😂.  I can feel that it helps in drying out my pimples. However, it is a little bit itchy on the part of pimple affected area only not the whole face. Perhaps the healing power is doing its job! 😊 Here's my picture 6 hours after the application:

I think I'm loving this bb cream. Imagine, I commuted from Mendiola to Eton Centris and walked around Quezon Avenue but still, I looked not so oily. Good job! I also didn't experience breakouts using this baby. Instead, it helps in drying out my pimples in a very mild way. This one's surely for the books and I'll wear it everyday going to office. 😊❤

Nia-Koji Lightener Soap Review

by 7:39 PM
Talking about whitening products, kojic acid soap is definitely a great option to eat. No! I mean to consider hahaha. Two weeks ago, I received a product called Nia Koji Lightener Soap for Sensitive Skin. Oh my goodness! The title is as long as North Luzon Expressway haha. Why Britwayz? Why? Haha.

What?

Aveya Beauty Nia-Koj Lightener Soap is revolutionary treatment that encourages youthful collagen to plump through, brighter, hydrated, stronger, and firmer skin tone by stimulating derma cell production. It uses safe and effective ingredients that can help you naturally achieve the dramatic look that, until recently, was only possible with surgery or dangerous chemical treatments.

Ingredients, Instruction and other details:

Where to buy?
Britwayz Online Shop

How much?
P299

Honestly, I didn't get too much excitement when I received the product because I thought it was just another kojic soap to try. Not until I opened the parcel, a strong candy-like smell bombarded my air-conditioned room and I was like? Oh ok I was shocked haha. So I got interested to try this product on my body only and I followed the instruction indicated on the box.

The soap is kinda pricey for its size (3.5oz) and the texture is a little bit rough. It seems that it has microbeads for exfoliation. I used it for not more than 30 seconds on my first bath and same way on the second and third. After two days, I've decided to leave it on my skin for 5 minutes like I usually do in all the soaps I've tried. In fairness, it didn't sting hah so I continued using the product following my 5 minute ritual until the 8th day. Oh my gosh! I've got some rashes on my legs, armpits and chest. I am so disappointed because I saw some improvements on my skin tone but I've got some super itchy rashes so I put on my favorite Nature Republic's Aloe Vera Soothing Gel every after wash.

As you can see, I've got some tiny bumps on my legs and my skin is super dry. It is so itchy.
I have no one to blame but myself again because I dared myself to broke the instruction given on the box. I thought I am hiyang with the product because I didn't notice any irritation on my first and second day but I was wrong. In all fairness to this soap hah, the tan lines caused by my last swimming were erased. In terms of whitening, this soap is super effective but I won't compromise my skin's health just to make myself fairer. Currently, I'm still using it but I only use it for 20 seconds and my rashes are now slowly healing. To be honest, I will consider in giving this soap another try following the right routine but I only received one bar of the product so I think I will continue using it next time because I still have some products to review.

Pros:

• Effective in whitening
• Microbeads
• Cold processed

Cons:

• Too strong
• It caused me rashes
• A bit pricey
• Not readily available in the market
• The soap is a bit small for its price

Who do I recommend this product?
I recommend the product to those who don't have sensitive skin. Please take my review as a guide.

Samsung Galaxy A8 Review

by 9:59 PM

I am receiving complements recently about the quality of the photos I am sharing here and in my social media channels. Some even asked me what camera I'm using and I answered them frankly:  "I'm using my smartphone". That's for real! As of now, I can't afford to purchase a good quality camera because of my expenses. Since I am addicted to smartphones, I've decided to make a review of my current favorite.

Disclaimer: I am not that techie or some sort of phone expert or whatever you wanna call those amazing tech wizards. I am just an ordinary user and I am writing this review based on my personal experience and opinion.

What?
Samsung Galaxy a8

The Galaxy A8 is the biggest of the A series with 5.7" Super AMOLED screen. It is also known as the Samsung's slimmest smartphone.

How much?
P24,500

Where to buy?
Samsung Stores or Abenson

It is really slim that I am sometimes afraid to put it in my pocket and sit down because it might break into pieces hehe. It has a thin and slim metal frame which I think adding elegance to its appearance. I am enjoying the full HD Super AMOLED display of this phone. Watching movies, playing mobile games and internet browsing are surely something that won't disappoint you. The camera I must say is superb, the photos looks vibrant and crisp. It saves me time trying to enhance some photos as there's no much editing needed. Here are some raw sample pictures:

I am not into gaming so I never tried it on mobile games but I bet it'll surely deliver because of its 2GB RAM. Moreover, I love that it remains fast and stable even if I have multiple apps open. Browsing is also a great experience because of its super wide screen. (You can even chop your favorite meat on the screen hahah no! Don't do that 😂). I sometimes write my blog posts using this phone and I didn't encounter any problem so far. By the way, I also have the forerunner of this product which is the Samsung Galaxy a7 and I am also very satisfied with it. I'm using A7 for my everyday office and other transactions. Let's talk about now the pros and cons. Ready?

Pros:

• Sleek and sophisticated design
• Camera
• Speed (performance)
• Wide screen
• Battery life
• Fast charging
• Nice sounds
• Full HD Display
• Corning Gorilla Glass 4
• Fingerprint, accelerometer, proximity and compass

Cons:

• Heats easily
• Not so handy
• A bit expensive for a mid-range phone
• Main camera is so bold
• Limited cases available

By the way, the videos I've captured are sometimes not playing or showing. I am only hearing the audio but the screen remains blank. It also happened on my A7 and I restarted them both and they're working perfectly fine. I've read lots of the same complaints.

I am really enjoying this phone and so far I am satisfied with it. I love that the things I like about this phone are dominating the things I don't like. By that, you and I can definitely tell that this phone is worth your money.

I know this review is a bit late already but then I believe that sharing thoughts is worth anytime. 😊  I hope this review can help you decide if you're eyeing to buy the same unit. 😊

Sebum Out Finish Powder Review

by 12:36 PM
Powder is the oily person's best friend. Am I correct or am I right? Haha. I love buying powders because it makes my face looks fresh and clean plus it helps in prolonging the life of the bb cream or sunblock you put on your face. When I tested Althea Korea's first ever online shop here in the Philippines, I've included this Sebum Out Finish Powder from W-Lab in my cart because it says on the description page that it's editor's favorite too. Sounds intriguing huh?

What?

Jewelry mixed powder 1,000ppm, arnica extract, gentian extract, aloe leaf extract. Controls the sebaceous glands, prevents greasy shine and stickiness of the skin.

How much?
P560

Where to Buy?
Althea Korea

So it says on the description page that it is made of jewelry mixed powder. You heard it right! It is made of amethyst powder, tourmaline nephrite powder, pearl powder, ruby powder, amber powder and coral powder. Edi wow! This is surely precious haha. It also contains Arnica extract that improves blood circulation and nutrition of the skin. It also has anti-inflammatory that penetrates deep into the epidermis. Amazing! Those are impressive ingredients that'll surely oblige you to add this to your cart isn't it? I am first impressed with the smell of this product, it has a mild candy-like smell. I love that the puff that it came with is super soft and they actually brag about it. They say that the secret of this powder is in the puff.

I must agree with them because it is so easy to use and it feels good when you rub or dub it on your face. It comes in a small circle powder case containing 24mg of the product (that's pretty plenty).

A little goes a long way. You don't really need to put on too much of the product just to make you look fresh, a round of dubbing is good enough. I am so in love because 6 hours after application, I still look fresh and less oily. I mean the oiliness is still picking through but you can see that it looks healthy than haggard. I like it better than Innisfree (but I love Innisfree too hah). It's just that there's something in this powder that makes me look fresher and healthy.

Here's a picture of me wearing this powder:

No Filter
For those who don't know me yet, I am the one wearing braces. My skin is a little red because I just came from the beach and yes I had some tan lines. Huhu.

What I like:

• Staying power
• Mildness (It didn't cause me breakouts)
• Smells good
• It makes my face look healthy
• Handy (tho it contains lots of products)
• The puff it came with is magic

What I don't like:

•  A bit pricey
• Not locally available

I will surely buy another one when I finished this one.

The Most Affordable Japanese Resto in Metro "Tok-Yu Sushi Bar and Restaurant"

by 3:45 PM

I love Asian cuisines specially Chinese and Japanese foods. Well, Chinese cuisine culture is deep rooted in the Philippines. You can see Chinese restaurants here and there and so Japanese restaurants too.  I have tried different restaurants that caters the foods I love. According to Food Historians, the country's food represents their history and culture that's why it is being treasured and respected.

You know how I love finding bang for the buck deals haha. My Otaku friend Gudo asked me and Pam (she's an Otaku too haha) for lunch. He said there's an affordable Sushi Bar near our office at Quezon Ave. Anyway, it was his treat.

What?
Tok-Yu Sushi Bar and Restaurant

Where?
Tomas Morato, Panay Avenue cor. Scout Borromeo, Quezon City

Budget?
P500 can make 2 to 3 people's happy tummies.

They also have Mixed Sushi Platter for only P200. It includes:
• 2 pieces of Tamago Sushi
• 2 pieces of Kani Sushi
• 8 pieces of California Maki

Their MENU:

There's nothing fancy about this restaurant. The place is so simple that you can compare it to your favorite pares or mami house. The serving and order taking are the same with your favorite carinderia. You also don't need to remove your shoes and all that Japanese eating rituals, it's plain and simple. We ordered Tamagoyaki, Beef Teriyaki, Oyakodon and Tempura. The foods were served after 15 minutes of waiting. Nothing special on their food garnishing but you can definitely tell that it is a Japanese food hehe.

I know you're excited to know how their foods taste, well their foods taste good. You can sense the Japanese spirit and it's actually good enough for its price. I am not saying that it can replace your favorite Japanese restaurant but it could be your favorite alternative when you're in a tight budget or if you're looking for a quick taste of Japan. Tok-Yu Sushi Bar will be your go to store.

Apparently, we enjoyed their foods and the competitive price they offer. We will surely go back to Tok-Yu Sushi Bar and Restaurant.

This is not a sponsored review. The statement above were based on our personal experience. My friend Gudo paid the foods we ate. 😊 Thanks Gudo!

Why It's Called Dirty Ice Cream?

by 7:45 PM

If there is one food that sets my mood, that's ice cream. When I'm mad, weary and happy, ice cream is my go to comfort food. Be it Selecta, Melona, Magnolia, Dairy Queen, Häagen-Dazs or sorbet, I will eat it haha. There's something in ice cream that makes me happy. If you are following me on Instagram, you'll see some photos of ice cream there haha. Actually, the story why I love eating ice cream is because when I was young, my grandma used to bribe me with ice cream everytime I threw tantrums because I wanna play outside haha (Yes! I was a hard headed kid. Lol.)

One of the most famous ice creams here in the Philippines is called sorbet or dirty ice cream. It is usually made of coconut milk flavored with local Philippine fruits. Historians say that Filipinos use coconut milk instead of animal's milk because Philippines is rich with coconut trees. You're not a Filipino if you don't eat sorbetes. Who can say no to this affordable but deliciously refreshing dessert? When I posted a picture of me pushing the cart of dirty ice cream on my social media channels, I've received some comments why it's called dirty ice cream? So here are the reasons:

1. It's called dirty ice cream because it was a mom's warning to a kid wanting to eat an ice cream that's being sold on the street.

2. The vendors usually don't wear gloves. Though, the buns and wafer cones were wrapped with napkins, the name stuck and retained its name, dirty ice cream.

3. Our moms used to tell us that the tip of the wafer cone is being used by the vendors to get their nose cakes. Yayks! I know it's gross but that's not true hahaha.

The truth is, it's not really dirty. I love eating sorbet and putting it in a bread bun. I have high respect to the peddlers because even if they don't have a permanent stand, they walk around the city streets just to deliver us the best tasting ice cream in the world.

Here are some of my ice cream selfies haha:

Kulang pa to haha

Crystal Beach Resort Camping Experience

by 10:13 PM

Summer is almost over but I guess it's never too late for me to share you my entry for the summer getaway review. Because of my hectic schedule, me and my friends had so much conflicts deciding when and where to go for summer. Since it is our 4 year friendship anniversary, we pushed this to happened. 😊

Last minute, we talked and decided to go anywhere just to make sure we can celebrate this special day. So I was so busy calling different resorts around Bataan, Batangas and Quezon but all of them were fully booked for our desired dates. So I've searched for beach resorts around Zambales and found this Crystal Beach Resort. I immediately called them to book a room but unfortunately they were fully booked too. Good thing the lady told me that we can still go because they have tent accommodations. We all agreed and booked the tent for four pax. This is so new to us. Another experience to treasure and it is our first time to camp together. So let me share you our experience at:

Crystal Beach Resort

Crystal Beach Resort is situated in Barangay La Paz San Narciso Town, Zambales beside the cool waters of West Philippine Sea.

How much?
P290 Entrance bring your own tent or
P500 per head inclusive of tent, mat, pillow and entrance fee.

They also have rooms and villas. You may visit their website for the rates:

www.crystalbeach.com.ph

How to get there?

For Private Transportation:
Balintawak exit to NLEX, exit on SCTEX on the last tollgate of NLEX.
From SCTEX take route going to Subic/SBMA, at SBMA tollgate turn right on Rizal Highway, go straight till you reach the dead end then turn left on the right tollgate to Olongapo City. Turn right on the first intersection (Canal St.). Exit to Kalaklan gate turn left going to Zambales, Subic town, Castillejos, San Marcelino, take shortcut see shortcut signage in the middle of the road. Town of San Narciso, turn left after Municipal Hall, follow road signs going to Crystal Beach.

FOR COMMUTERS:
Kindly go to any of the following VICTORY LINER stations: Cubao, Caloocan, Pasay, and Sampaloc. Take the IBA-bound bus and ask to be dropped off in San Narciso, Zambales (nearest landmark: San Sebastian Catholic Church). Once there, take a tricycle going to Crystal Beach Resort.
For bus schedules, you may visit: www.victoryliner.com

A trip going to San Narciso costs P305. During our trip, we were amazed by the beautiful sceneries of Subic, Olongapo and Zambales. I must commend their place for being so clean. Even their bays and rivers are clean and free from garbage.

This is going to be your favorite escape, if it isn't already. The place is so beautiful and clean. Their friendly front desk officers welcomed us warmly with genuine smile and we felt so comfortable on our first step. They also have a complimentary welcome drinks made of water infused fruits. After filling up the check-in form, their friendly usher led us to our tent. We actually requested the tent to be relocated to our desired location. After few searching, we finally found the perfect location and we started building the tower oh I mean the tent hehe.

After setting up the tent and all of our belongings, we got hungry and decided to eat our packed lunch (Adodo with hard boiled egg) packed and cooked by my personal chef (my partner) yes! There's forever lol. 😂 Wait! This is so important pala. If you're going to commute, please go to Victory Liner terminal ahead of time because the queue on the ticket booth was so long. According to the guard I've asked, the queue is always long everyday.
After eating, it's beach time bitch! Hahaha we swam till 6PM. Their beach I must say is great. It's not as great as the one in boracay wherein the sand is super fine and the water is clear but Crystal Beach offers a nicer beach compared to other beaches near Manila. Though, Westnuk have a better beach, it's still a different experience we had at Crystal Beach Resort. (Puro beach, bitch!) Haha. 😂

After swimming, we prepared ourselves for the night party. Every Saturday, they offer a live band by the beach wherein you can drink while listening to acoustic songs feeling the cold breeze of the ocean and watching the stars shinning. How relaxing is that? Their beer and cocktail drinks are so affordable.

After the party, we went back to our tent and slept. There were no mosquitoes hah. The next morning, we ate breakfast at the convenience store inside the resort. We played beach volleyball and swam again. After that, we took some selfies and  prepared our things for our checkout.

There are lots of activities you can do in Crystal Beach Resort. Our experience was surely short but sweet. Aside from the happiness and memories we had, our souls were fed with the lessons we've got sleeping inside the tent wherein we have no aircon, blanket and light.  We really enjoyed our stay there and we will definitely go back given the chance. 😊

I've got some tan lines but I don't mind them. I can take glutathione anytime haha.

Disclaimer:
The views and statement above are based on my personal experience visiting the resort. I am not being paid writing this review. All expenses were paid by us.
