SPOTLIGHT: YouTube Jam Night

A lot of Filipino creators are continuously dominating the YouTube community each day. Last March 24, 2017, I was luckily invited to witness the talents of some of the leading YouTubers in the music industry in the night filled with harmony, bonding, and food: The YouTube Jam night!

We were serenaded by these young Filipino Creators:

Agsunta


Agsunta is an independent Filipino band popular for its acoustic and soft melodic rock sound. The band popularized #AgsuntaSongRequests and #AgsuntaJamSessions -- a series of YouTube videos of the band performing OPM songs. (I'm actually listening their cover of Tadhana while writing this blog post :) <3). The band is composed of Jireh Singson ( vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboard), Mikel Arevalo (lead guitar, backing vocals), Josh Planas (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Stephen Arevalo (drums, percussion, keyboard, backing vocals). Two of the band members, Stephen and Jireh, are students from De La Salle College of Saint Benilde pursuing degrees in Bachelor or Arts in Music Production.

Reneé Dominique


Reneé Dominique is a YouTube creator and singer-songwriter who has entranced viewers with her original songs and ukelele covers of popular songs by artists such as The Beatles, Maroon 5, The Weeknd, and more. This multi-talented musician plays the piano and the guitar and is also part of Star Music's album "OPM Fresh".



Karl Zarate


Karl Zarate is a YouTube artist who does cover versions of popular songs. (I'm listening to his cover of Beauty and the Beast now and oh! It's a beast!! Love it!). This 22-year old singer is also into vlogs, song parodies, and collaboration projects with fellow YouTube Creators. He was part of reality talent shows on TV such as RisingStars Philippines on TV5 and Just Duet on GMA 7.

Reese Lansangan


Reese is a singer-songwriter, visual artist, graphic designer, fashion designer, and published author. On her YouTube channel, she showcases her musical talent, and through her videos, you'll see her work her magic for telling compelling stories through her songwriting. She wrote "Home", the wedding song for Vic Sotto and Pauleen Luna's nuptial, and she has also worked with prestigious brands such as HP Asia, TEDs, Guinness World Records, Spotify, Coca Cola, and Disney.

I was literally amazed by their voices during the YouTube Jam Night that's why I keep on listening to their covers until now haha. I attended the said event with Ms. Princess Angeles.

I didn't experience any troubles navigating their online shop because of the detailed menu available in every pages of their website. Look how you can easily select and look for the products you would like to buy:




Aside from their functional menus, they also have these sections in their online shop to help you decide what product to buy. They're called Bloom the Magazine and Reviews. If you are like me who read a lot before hitting the add to cart button, their magazine is something you'll surely love. Look how chic and fancy looking their Online Magazine is:


I was shocked because my order has arrived in less than 24 hours. Yes! You heard it right! I placed my order around 8PM and the next morning before lunch, my order was delivered in my shipping address. How cool is that? Dude! That's even cooler than my air-con this summer haha. Literally it's so hot and my air-con is having a hard time to remain cool. :D


My orders were delivered in a cute transparent plastic that says: "Finally, a beauty destination for you." Though it's transparent, there's a paper cover inside to wrap the items. Not to mention that all of the products were carefully embraced by a bubble wrap.


I purchased two Wet N' Wild Coverall Cream Foundation because I am not sure with the shade. To be sure, I've got the Light/Medium and Medium colors. It has a medium to full coverage and a light texture. I'll make a full detailed reviewed for you soon.

I also bought this Be Organic Bath & Body Insect Repellent Spray because I am eyeing for one since last year. This is something I can really use specially when I'm in my province. It has a nice organic smell. Though it's an oil spray, it's not sticky on skin. Speaking of spray, its sprayer is a bomb because it releases the product very widely.

I mentioned to you on my vlogs and other blog posts that I always have a moisturizing soap in my shower so I bought this Dove Bar Soap Fresh Moisture. Its fragrance is really refreshing which is perfect for this summer. I just hope that it is as moisturizing as their original variant.

To be honest, I highly recommend shopping at  BeautyMNL. Aside from their sweet and quirky customer service, they also offer wide range of products, sales, and promotions. Just like what I've said, if you are the type of person who loves to read before buying, this will be your home. I just hope they can lower the amount you need to spend to be qualified for a FREE shipping. Anyway, their shipping fee is way cheaper than the other online stores out there. And oh! Another thing I wish they have is a page or a specific line of products for men. Men are vain too, we are beautiful too so just like Sephora, Althea Korea, and Zalora, I wish they have a page dedicated for men. :)

The biggest thing here that I'd like to specify is shopping at BeautyMNL gives you the peace of mind that you'll be getting an authentic product. Specially if you want to buy makeups that are only available abroad, they have it! There are a lot of fake sellers and scammers around the net so be careful guys. I have been wanting to try any Burt's Bees products since last year because I'm hearing great feedback from my favorite beauty bloggers around the globe (yes, I am also a fan and I love reading other blogs). That's why my eyes were replaced by two big hearts when I saw a lot of Burt's Bees goodies at Sephora.

From makeup, skincare, bath and body, Burt's Bees got you covered only at Sephora Philippines. To be honest, it took me more than 2 hours to browse what to buy because they have many great products and if I can only buy all of them, I surely will haha.



After a day, yes, I was surprised that my order from Sephora Philippines arrived just the next day and holy **** that was faster than my internet connection haha. The products were properly packaged and I so love how they prepared it. It looks really fancy and protected:


After opening the bubble wrap bag, the products were sealed with another bubble wrap and that was crazily amazing. Sephora is making sure that we are getting the best of the best products in their brand new condition. (There's this one Popular online store here in the Philippines who's packaging is very poor, I received my order with its box distorted and what the?).

I know you're all excited to know more about the products that I've ordered so here's my first impression for each:


Burt's Bees BB Cream: I immediately swatch it and it feels very light and not sticky at all. It has a decent coverage and the shade is so perfect for me.

Burt's Bees Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream: It smells so awesome! It has a very nice packaging (with a pump) so it's so hygienic. It's also very lightweight.

Burt's Bees Sensitive Sensitive Night Cream: It's a cream but it melted like a water the moment I applied it on my skin. It has very nice organic smell.

The common denominator of all Burt's Bees products is the "natural ingredients". The smell and texture says it all.

Alright, I need to cut you here guys but don't worry because I'll make a detailed review for each products very soon so watch out for that. For now, stay tuned on my social media channels for quick updates about my Burt's Bees experience.

 All in all, I must say that ordering from Sephora is such a smart move. Aside from the assurance that you'll be getting authentic products, they also have various lines for your needs not to mention their left and right promotions and discounts. And oohh they also have a specific section for men and makeup lovers like me. Let's try those next. :)

At first, I thought it's causing me acne breakout but I was wrong. I found out that the wet wipes that I recently tried irritated my skin. The breakout literally disappeared the moment I stopped using the said facial wipes.

The products don't have any smell at all which I am sure every person with sensitive skin will love. I also like the fact that the containers are big and so the products inside were generously poured and packaged (really worth your money).




I usually use Hada Labo products right after every bath because that's when my skin needs moisture the most. This HADA LABO Shiro-jyun Clear Lotion serves as a toner but I don't use a cotton ball or pad to apply the product simply because its consistency is a little thicker than your usual toner so I just use my clean hands to gently pat it on my not-so-pretty face hahahaha.

The lotion is soooo good and refreshing, it doesn't feel heavy at all and it's really so comfortable to apply. I like how it works as a toner because unlike the usual, this doesn't have that stingy sensation. It's not as cooling as our regular toner though.

The next step is applying this HADA LABO Shiro-jyun Milk (Emulsion). This seal in the moisuture on our face while claiming to give a more bright and youthful skin. Well, like the lotion, this product is really lightweight and not irritating at all. I like how it makes my skin feel moisturized after shower. It also makes my skin soft and smooth once fully absorbed.

I just occasionally use masks so I tried the HADA LABO Shiro-jyun Mask just once so I am not sure if I can give justice in reviewing this product but let me give you my first impression still. Nothing is comparable when it comes to packaging, texture and appearance as it's literally like just the usual masks out there. However, what makes this product standout are the ingredients and the generous amount of serum they packaged the sheet mask with.

Contradicting to the generous amount of products they put inside, the container or packaging looks really cheap for my liking. I don't know if it's just me but look at the pictures above and be the judge. I also don't like the fact that they don't have English translations for their labels. Good thing Cheska's Store put this sticker on:


All in all, I recommend using Hada Labo Brightening products. It contains powerful ingredients when it comes to whitening such as Hyaluronic Acid to intensely hydrate, botanical extracts and vitamin C to help visibly diminish the appearance of freckles, age and dark spots. Plus it has an added Arbutin which is known as one of the most powerful ingredients of whitening products today. Though, in my almost a month of using it, I didn't see some dramatic change on my skin color, it somehow lightened some dark spots on my face and gave my skin a proper hydration. The packaging is another thing to consider when purchasing Hada Labo specially if you are meticulous when it comes to the physical appearance of the product you are about to buy. I hope they can do something about it.

Just like the usual glutathione capsules, it comes in a sealed plastic bottle. I like color combination of the sticker. The green, white and gold makes it look fancy not to mention that everything you need to know about the supplement is printed very nicely.

I took this glutathione supplement for 15 days. 1 capsule 30 minutes after breakfast and 1 capsule 30 minutes after dinner. I didn't notice any negative effects like acne breakout, burning throat, palpitation, diarrhea or weight gain. However, it makes my acid serious (yung feeling na sinisikmura ka?) so I made sure to have at least crackers or biscuit right after taking the said supplement.

To be honest, after taking Gluta Essentials for 15 days, I didn't notice a dramatic change on my skin color or complexion. Maybe it needs more time to see the result perhaps a month or two? The good thing about this glutathione is that, on my 10th day of taking it, I already noticed a more glowing skin. You know that I have a fair skin and I look really pale. I know that the glutathione is working when it gives a pinkish color or noticeable glow on my skin and Gluta Essentials just does that.

All in all, Gluta Essentials is a good whitening supplement as it gives my skin a certain glow plus it has nice ingredients. Perhaps it takes more than a month of taking to see its full effect. Anyway, I must say that this is an OK glutathione and I still recommend it since it didn't cause me bad side effects (except from my acid of couse).

To be honest, the treatment wasn't painful. I just experienced a very little pain on my upper lip area. Other than that, my experience was fine and calm. I noticed immediate results right after the RevLite treatment. Pores' size were lessened, darkspots and acne marks were lightened, not to mention that my skin feels like a baby afterwards.
