I asked them to share their skincare concerns on one of my posts and I chose Jay's comment so I sent him the Red Tomato Skincare Set. And now, after finishing the entire set, Jay sent back to me his write-up (review) so I can share it here in our awesome blog.
THE RED TOMATO 3-STEP SKIN CARE
First of all, I would like to grab this opportunity to thank Bes MJ for choosing me to do a product review for the month. :) I am really thrilled to try out this Red Tomato Set since I am very cautious and picky when it comes to choosing the right skin care product for my delicate skin. For everyone’s knowledge, I would like to share that my skin type is oily and very sensitive. That is why when I received the Red Tomato Set, I tried it immediately without any hesitation because I know the benefits of the Tomato in our body and I cannot wait to see its actual effects on my skin. Without further ado, I am going to share with you all an in-depth review of the Red Tomato by Venice within 2 weeks of using it.
STEP 1: RED TOMATO SOAP
If you are an avid fan of using soap as a facial wash, then this Soap is the best for you. What makes this soap excellent is that its primary ingredient is Real Tomato Extract which means it contains Vitamins A, C, E, Lycopene and Zea-xanthin, all of which contributes to make your skin brighter, glowing, and protects you from unwanted free radicals. On top of that it also has several other ingredients to maximize and further its nutritional benefits on your skin. The other ingredients are Coconut Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, and Coffee bits (which helps exfoliate dead skin cells). The soap promises to instantly brighten your skin, lighten scars, melasma, and dark spots. It also addresses your skin break-outs.
Upon opening the box, I have noticed that it is neatly packaged in a transparent wrapper. It also has a fruity aroma that is quite addictive. The color of the soap is combination of pink and red. I use the soap twice a day, in the morning and evening since it is very gentle on the skin. It provides an immediate clean smooth feeling after every wash. By using the soap within two weeks, I have noticed a big improvement on my skin: it lightened my existing pimple scars and dark spots, my skin looks brighter and glowing, and finally it minimized my pores (This is very important since men in general has larger pores than women)
STEP 2: RED TOMATO TONER
The Red Tomato Toner has a handful of promising benefits on the skin. Among its benefits are the following: it removes deep-seated dirt, eliminates pimples, effectively whitens, fights skin aging, eliminates wrinkles and fine lines, tightens pores, restores skin’s PH balance, moisturizes and refreshes your skin, and it containes Lycopene, water, collagen and glutathione. However, it is not indicated on the label of the Toner. It would have been better if they have included it since most consumers are meticulous when it comes to the contents of the products they are using. Gladly, there is information available on the web about the Toner.
The first time I used the toner, my skin reacted to it since it is a new product. For the first few days, there are red patches scattered on my face (possibly allergic reactions) after every application. There is a disclaimer in the label though that when allergic reaction appears, discontinue using it. However, I am confident that this is normal for me since I have tried various products before and it takes a while before my skin gets used to a new product. The toner comes in a 250ml bottle just like any other toners in the market. As per instruction in the label, you let the toner dry up on your skin for a minute before applying the Red Tomato Serum. This will allow for the absorption of the toner on your skin. It has a natural floral aroma that is soothing to the senses. The fluid is clear with tiny red bits that most likely resemble tomato extracts since it is made up of Tomato.
It took almost two weeks before my skin got used to this product. I use the toner with a cotton ball and gently pat it on my face in circular motion focusing on the cheeks, hairline, and dark spots on my face. Right now, my skin is already compatible with the Toner. No more red patches. And the results are visible. My skin is evidently glowing and whiter than before. The toner has also helped minimize my pores. Also, the best thing about this product is that it is organic. I use it twice a day after washing my face off with the Red Tomato Soap.
STEP 3: RED TOMATO SERUM
The Red Tomato Serum is actually the first serum that I have used on my face. I have tried several moisturizers before but I am ecstatic about trying out this Serum since just like the Soap and the Toner, it is pretty much made up of the same ingredients.
The Serum comes in an elegant small plastic pump bottle tightly sealed which is impressive since it preserves the quality of the product. However, when I opened it up and tried to pump out the serum, nothing came out. I ended up opening the bottle only to find out that the serum appeared to be like a dormant cooking oil. The serum became so viscous that it cannot be dispensed through the dip tube. Look at the picture below.
Since I cannot pump out the serum, I just scoop it out from the bottle using the dip tube and apply an ample amount on my face. In a circular motion, I spread it gently on my face. What I like most about this serum is that it has a menthol and soothing effect on the skin and it serves as a moisturizer. I apply it twice a day after using the Red Tomato Toner. Within 2 weeks, its effects on my skin are already visible.
Overall, the Red Tomato Set by Venice is a great product for everyday use. What sets it apart from other cosmetic kits is that is is organic which means it not harmful to the skin. Furthermore, it efficiently and effectively delivers its promises provided that you are religiously using it day and night. It surely gives its contemporaries a run for their money.
